With a membership of over 5,000, the ACLU of the National Capital Area (ACLU-NCA) now defends and expands civil liberties in the Nation’s Capital, including important Federal employee matters. Those who join us also become members of the National ACLU.

Their mission: The Bridgespan Group is a nonprofit advisor and resource for mission-driven organizations and philanthropists. They collaborate with social sector leaders to help scale impact, build leadership, advance philanthropic effectiveness and accelerate learning. They work on issues related to society’s most important challenges in three primary areas:  pathways to opportunity for disadvantaged populations, environmental sustainability, and civic engagement.

Organization: National Women’s Law Center
Seeking: Law Student Intern
Their mission: Since 1972, the National Women’s Law Center has expanded the possibilities for women and girls in this country. They have succeeded in getting new laws on the books and enforced; litigating ground-breaking cases all the way to the Supreme Court, and educating the public about ways to make laws and public policies work for women and their families. Today, an experienced staff of nearly 60 continues to advance the issues that cut to the core of women’s lives in education, employment, family and economic security, and health and reproductive rights—with special attention given to the needs of low-income women and their families.
